Typhoons are basically hurricanes that occur in North West Pacific Ocean thus almost the same conditions cause typhoons but there are certain more rules that must exist before a typhoon can occur. Thus the causes are more particular in case of a typhoon.

Typhoons1

Typhoons2

A typhoon needs warm water in abundance. The temperature of the water should be 79.7 degrees F at a depth of 50 metres. This warm water mixes with cold air to create a low pressure system. This starts the typhoon. Next requirement is a continuous supply of water so there must be a lot of water near the eye of the typhoon once it has developed. The typhoons also need specific location to start. It should be 5 degrees north of the equator as this is the most favorable location for the development of a typhoon.
