What causes liver damage?

Liver failure is a condition when large parts of the liver are damaged beyond repair and the normal functioning of the liver is hampered. It usually starts with the enlargement and inflammation of the liver.

The common causes of liver failure are alcohol abuse, hepatitis B and C, Cystic fibrosis malnutrition, poisoning, and acute hepatitis A. The symptoms of liver failure are often confused with that of other disease and it results in delay of the treatment.
