What causes a Tsunami?

A tsunami is basically caused by sudden movement of the floor of the ocean. This sudden movement could be a result of a big volcanic eruption

or a landslide under the surface of the ocean. A powerful

earthquake can also cause the floor of the ocean to move suddenly. In some extreme cases, the floor could be moved by the strike of a bid meteorite.
